Turn Ideas Into Real 3D Creations – While Strengthening Math Thinking

From imagination to measurable, buildable designs.

3D Design@School empowers students aged 15–16 to think spatially, design with purpose, and apply mathematics to real-world creation. Students don’t just learn how to design in 3D – they learn how math shapes the objects, structures, and products around them.

Since 2022, this outreach program by Penang Math Platform has:
– Reached 30+ schools across Pulau Pinang
– Introduced students to design thinking and spatial problem-solving
– Brought hands-on, future-ready learning into classrooms across 5 districts in Penang

By the end of the program, students are able to:
– Transform ideas into accurate 3D models
– Apply geometry, measurement, and spatial reasoning with confidence
– Understand and use concepts such as volume, surface area, symmetry, and transformations
– Design objects that are functional, scalable, and ready for real-world use
– Build confidence in STEM, design, and creative problem-solving
