STRUCTURAL DESIGN COMPETITION

Hello everyone!

This event is an Innovation & Creativity for Structural Stability Design Competition.

Competition Description

1. Each team will be provided with same fix weight of old newspapers (the weight of newspaper will only be announced before the competition start) and 3 rolls of masking tape.

2. Students are allowed to roll, cut, trim, tear, wrap and fold the newspaper and using masking tape to build any form of Structure that can withstand high static load.

3. The structure can be built in any size, shape, form, and dimension.

4. The Structural Design must be completely built within 3 hours by students at the

competition venue.

This is a TEAM event with 3 members per team. The maximum number of teams per school is 3 teams

Age: 15 to 17 Years old ( Form 3- Form 5)

Date: 25 August 2023

Time: 9am – 3pm

Venue: Sekolah Menengah Han Chiang

Jalan Han Chiang, 11600 George Town

Duration: 5 Hours (3 hours for model design + 2 hours for judging)
